Little Jaguars (4-7 years) and Young Jaguars (8-12 years)
For children, BJJ classes are tailored to different age groups, specifically for those aged 4-7 years and 8-12 years. These classes are designed to introduce young practitioners to the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe and engaging environment. The focus is on developing coordination, discipline, and respect, which are essential values in martial arts training. Children learn basic techniques while also engaging in fun activities that promote physical fitness and social interaction.
Adult classes- Beginner and General
Adults can also benefit from beginner BJJ classes, which serve as an introduction to the sport. These classes are structured to help new students acquire essential skills before progressing to more advanced levels. The curriculum typically includes fundamental movements, positional drills, and basic submissions, ensuring that students build a solid foundation in their practice.
At GMA, we offer both BJJ in the traditional uniform, the Gi as well as No-Gi which includes shorts/leggings and a rash-vest. Classes in both styles are undertaken every week so as to not lose technical skills as seen in seasonal training programs.
Recognising your achievements via gradings
Progression in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is often marked by a grading system, which provides students with clear goals and milestones. This system not only motivates students to improve their skills but also fosters a sense of achievement as they advance through the ranks. Each belt represents a level of proficiency and knowledge, encouraging continuous learning and development within the art.
